Myocardial fibrosis(MF)is an important pathological change in the progression of a variety of heart dis-eases due to myocardial structural and functional changes caused by factors such as ischemia and hypoxia.Left ven-tricular diastolic dysfunction(LVDD)is a comprehensive result of a variety of complex pathological processes,which eventually progresses to heart failure with preserved ejection fraction(HFpEF),seriously affecting the quality of life and lifetime of patients.This article reviews the role of MF in the process of LVDD,and discusses the cur-rent research progress of treatment.
