Objective:To investigate the correlation between miRNA-1-3p expression level and chronic heart fail-ure(CHF)in the elderly. Methods:A total of 45 elderly CHF inpatients ≥65 years who were treated in our hospi-tal from June 2019 to August 2021 were selected as CHF group.Another 45 healthy elderly people with correspond-ing age who received physical examination simultaneously were selected as control group.Left ventricular end dias-tolic diameter(LVEDd)and left ventricular ejection fraction(LVEF)were measured by cardiac ultrasound, and plasma brain natriuretic peptide(BNP)level was measured. The expression levels of miRNA-1-3p in peripheral blood monocytes of the two groups were determined by real-time fluoreseence quantitative reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction(qRT-PCR).Levels of above indexes were compared between two groups. Results:Compared with control group, there were significant rise in plasma BNP level[(38.34±23.02)pg/ml vs.(679.89±338.72)pg/ml],LVEDd[45(42,47)mm vs.50(46,54)mm]and miRNA-1-3p expression[1.09(0.68,1.62)vs.1.42(0.98,2.35)],and significant reduction in LVEF[(56.86±3.97)%vs.(48.89±8.32)%]in CHF group,P<0.01 all.Spearman correlation analysis indicated that plasma BNP and LVEDd were significant positively correlated with miRNA-1-3p expression(r=0.303,0.223,P=0.006,0.049),while LVEF was sig-nificant inversely correlated with miRNA-1-3p expression(r=-0.235,P=0.047).Conclusion:miRNA-1-3p in peripheral blood monocytes may be a novel marker and therapeutic target for the diagnosis of chronic heart failure in the elderly.
