Objective:To investigate the risk factors of frailty in elderly patients with heart failure with preserved e-jection fraction(HFpEF).Methods:A total of 113 elderly HFpEF patients(over 60 years old)were included in the retrospective study.Clinical baseline data and cardiac ultrasound data were collected. The frailty condition was e-valuated using the Fatigue,Resistance,Ambulation,Illnesses and Loss of weight(FRAIL)scale.Univariate analy-sis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to screen the independent risk factors for frailty in elderly HFpEF patients. Results:A total of 41 patients(36.3%)were assessed as frailty.Left atrial diameter(LAD),left ventricular early diastolic filling velocity/mitral early diastolic peak blood flow velocity(E/e'),age,the Nutritional Risk Screening 2002(NRS 2002)score,and the proportions of multiple medication and NYHA class Ⅲ in the pa-tients with frailty group were significantly higher than those without frailty(P<0.05 or<0.01).Multivariate Lo-gistic regression analysis showed that LAD(OR=3.184,95%CI:1.142~8.874,P=0.027),age(OR=2.912,95%CI:1.264~6.712,P=0.012),NYHA class Ⅲ(OR=13.290,95%CI:1.527~115.681,P=0.020),multi-ple medication(OR=1.439,95%CI:1.043~1.985,P=0.027),and NRS 2002 score(OR=2.818,95%CI:1.128~7.038,P=0.027)were independent risk factors for frailty in elderly HFpEF patients. Conclusion:The in-cidence of frailty is high in elderly patients with HFpEF.Aging, multiple medication, malnutrition, cardiac func-tion class and left atrial diameter are risk factors for frailty in elderly patients with HFpEF.
