Based on the data selected from China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study(CHARLS),we,firstly, used propensity score matching technique to construct a balanced panel data, and then analyzed the impacts of Internet use on senior citizens'depression, social participation, and life satis-faction by controlling out the endogeneity and confounding variables. We also tested the robustness of the em-pirical results via different ways. Our empirical results indicate that senior citizens who use the Internet can improve their subjective perception than those who do not use the Internet.Internet use can indirectly im-prove senior citizens'life satisfaction by directly reducing their sense of depression or indirectly lowering their sense of depression through social participation. We suggest that government should encourage the whole society to provide senior citizens more online resources and encourage them to participate in online social ac-tivities,and in turn build a digitally inclusive society for senior citizens.
