The accelerated aging population in China is accompanied by the rapid development of digit-al technology.It is of great significance to explore the impact and mechanism of the use of digital technology on the well-being of the elderly.Based on the 2021 China Comprehensive Social Survey(CGSS)data and OLS regression model analysis,it was found that the frequency of digital technology use positively affects the happiness of the elderly through the mediating variable of cognitive level,and factors such as social trust and support also positively affect the happiness of the elderly.Therefore,the government,society,enterprises,and families all need to actively create conditions and opportunities for the elderly to use digital technology,improve their cognitive level,enhance their social trust and actual social support,and effectively enhance their sense of happiness in life.
