Performance of ecological permeable bricks prepared from chemically activated sludge incineration ash
Ecological permeable bricks were prepared by using CaO,NaOH,NaAlO2,and Na2SiO3 to stimulate the chemical ac-tivity of sludge incineration ash and then compounded with cement as a cementitious material. The influence of different chemical activators on the compressive strength of cement paste was studied through orthogonal experiments, and the influence of aggregate cement ratio on the splitting tensile strength, permeability, frost resistance, and water retention of ecological permeable bricks pre-pared from sludge incineration ash was explored. The results show that composite chemical activators can improve the mechanical properties of ecological permeable bricks prepared from sludge incineration ash,but will reduce its permeability and water retention. The aggregate cement ratio is positively correlated with the permeability coefficient of permeable bricks. When the aggregate ce-ment ratio increases from 3.0 to 3.4,the permeability coefficient of the control group without added sludge incineration ash in-creases by 153%,and the permeability coefficient of the experimental group with added sludge incineration ash increases by 184%.To meet the engineering requirements, the dosage of sludge incineration ash should not exceed 30%.
