Study on properties of alkali-activated slag-steel slag composite cementitious system
Mineral slag-steel slag composite cementitious material was prepared by using sodium hydroxide and sodium silicate as activators. The effects of slag content, alkali equivalent and sodium silicate modulus on the compressive strength of hardened test blocks were studied. The microstructure and the composition of hydration products of the samples were analyzed by XRD and SEM.The results show that the compressive strength decreases with the decrease of mineral slag content. With the increase of alkali equivalent, the compressive strength first increases and then decreases. The strength reaches the highest when the alkali equivalent is 11%.With the increase of the modulus of sodium silicate, the compressive strength first increases and then decreases. The compressive strength of each age reaches the highest when the modulus of sodium silicate is 1.2.The hydration products of alkali activated slag/steel slag are mainly composed of CaCO3,hydrated C-S-H gel, hydrated C-A-S-H gel, tobermorite and RO phase.
