Analysis of the effect of SBS dosage and structure on the performance of modified asphalt
SBS-modified asphalt was prepared by blending 90#base asphalt, three SBS copolymers with different structures, and tested for needle penetration, softening point, ductility, viscosity, fluorescence microscopy and rheological properties. The complex shear modulus, phase angle, and rutting factor of SBS-modified asphalt were analyzed by temperature sweep experiments from 30~80℃.The results showed that the SBS spatial network structure could not be reflected when the SBS doping was low,and increasing the doping of SBS and the molecular mass of SBS could improve the high temperature stability, low temperature tensile strength, viscosity, rutting resistance, and reduce temperature sensitivity of the modified asphalt. In addition, the fluorescence microscopy results show that when the dosage of SBS is increased to 5%,the structure of SBS in asphalt is more dense and uniformly distributed.
