Research on theoretical core drilling depth of existing concrete structures
The theoretical drilling depth of concrete core samples with diameter of 100 mm and 75 mm was studied by combining field test and numerical simulation. The field testing shows that the cross sections of the two core samples with different diameters shows different oblique sections. The minimum length of concrete fracture core sample corresponds to the maximum loss length of core sample. There is no obvious correlation between the loss length and the strength grade of concrete.ANSYS finite element analysis shows that when the core sample diameter is the same and the core depth is the same, and when the initial crack of the core sample occurs at the root, the loss length is the smallest. When the initial crack occurs at the end,the loss length is the largest. The maximum value of loss length does not change with the strength grade of concrete. The maximum loss length of concrete core samples with diameter of 100 mm and 75 mm is obtained, and the expression of theoretical drilling core depth is established. This study provides reference for drilling of existing concrete structures.
