Preparation and performance of waterborne polymer modified asphalt waterproof coating
MAH grafted SBS modified asphalt was prepared by using maleic anhydride(MAH)and styrene butadiene styrene block copolymer(SBS)as asphalt modifier, and then emulsified to obtain modified emulsified asphalt, which was compounded with polymer lotion, filler and various additives to obtain water-bome polymer modified asphalt waterproof coating. The results showed that after 6 hours of reaction, the grafting rate of maleic anhydride asphalt was the highest; With the continuous increase of SBS content, the softening point, penetration, viscosity, tensile performance, and low-temperature performance of MAH grafted SBS modified asphalt have all been improved, and a continuous network structure has been formed.Considering cost and emulsification process factors,it is recommended that the SBS content be 5%.The prepared modified emulsified asphalt has good storage stability, and the storage stability still reaches 96.7%after 6 months of storage. When the addition of polymer lotion is 30%,the coating product shows good high and low temperature resistance and mechanical properties. The use of mica powder can significantly reduce the water absorption rate of coatings. At the same time, the use of inorganic thickeners(magnesium aluminum silicate)can effectively reduce the water absorption rate of coatings and maintain good anti sagging and stability.Polyether modified organosilicon de-foamers can have a good defoaming effect. When the addition amount is 0.2%,the surface of the coating is bright and flat.
