Effect of aggregate gradation on properties of ultra high performance concrete
The study investigated the effects of crushed stone with different particle size(2~5mm and 5~10 mm)and dosage on work performance, mechanical properties, shrinkage properties, durability of ultra high performance concrete(UHPC).The results show that with the increase of the dosage crushed stone with particle size of 2~5 mm,the slump-flow of the ultra high performance concrete with coarse aggregate increase first and then decrease. When the ratio of crushed stone with particle size of 2~5 mm and 5~10 mm is 4∶6,the mechanical properties of ultra high performance concrete with coarse aggregate are the best. The autogenous shrinkage and drying shrinkage of ultra high performance concrete with coarse aggregate can be effectively reduced by adding crushed stone with two different kinds of particle size.Compared with concrete prepared with particle size of 2~5 mm,the maximum decrease of autogenous shrinkage is 34.3%.Compared with concrete prepared with particle size of 5~10 mm,the electric flux and chloride diffusion coefficient decrease by 52.6%and 50.0%respectively when the dosage of crushed stone with particle size of 2~5 mm is 40%.
