The emission characteristics of diesel engine fueled with bio-diesel or diesel were investigated. The results showed that for the same engine operating condition, compared to the pure diesel fuel, the combustion process was improved with bio-diesel, the emissions of HC, CO and particulates were reduced by a wide margin, but the emissions of NO_x and CO_2 were slightly higher for engine fueled with bio-diesel.
