Innovations in Organizational Distribution:The CPC's Unity,Cultivation,and Education of Newspaper Boys during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression
Newspaper boys have been an important grass-roots force in the distribution of Chinese news-papers and magazines in cities since the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China.According to the historical data,newspaper boys also constituted an important support for the Communist Par-ty of China(CPC)to break the distribution monopoly and recreate the distribution in many cities such as Kuomintang controlled areas and behind enemy lines during the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggres-sion.The CPC not only reformed the organization of newspaper boys through cultural,ideological,political and other educational content,but also transformed them from an underclass of workers with no food and cloth-ing into active and autonomous democratic fighters who combined the functions of information dissemination,intelligence communication,and fighting against the enemy,thus enriching and expanding their functions.This temporal and global process also reflects the superior path of the CPC to unity,association and organiza-tion of the lower working class.
