The Economic and Social Basis and Regional Differences of Elderly Care in Rural Areas of China:A Dual Analysis Based on the Concept of Elderly Care and Elderly Care Resources
There are significant regional differences in the elderly care life of rural elderly in China.Exist-ing research has focused more on the importance of embedding external factors such as systems, technology, and resources into rural elderly care, while neglecting the economic and social foundation of rural elderly care in various regions and their regional differences.Based on the dual analysis of"elderly care concept-elderly care resources",it is found that in developed regions, ancestral villages have a strong sense of respect for el-derly care, abundant elderly care resources, and good elderly care conditions; The elderly in atomized villag-es in developed areas have a strong sense of autonomy, abundant elderly care resources, and a lower quality of life for elderly care;In underdeveloped areas, the elderly in ancestral villages have a strong sense of respect and care, and their elderly care situation is not poor, despite the limited resources for elderly care; The elder-ly care resources in atomized villages in underdeveloped areas are generally average, but the concept of inde-pendent elderly care is obvious, highly dependent on individual concepts and abilities, and the elderly care life is still acceptable; The elderly care resources in small family villages in underdeveloped areas are general-ly average, and the status of the elderly is not high.Limited family resources are prioritized for offspring alloca-tion,resulting in significant pressure and poor elderly care conditions. Therefore,it is necessary to clarify the economic and social foundation of rural elderly care in different regions and their regional differences, and for-mulate targeted policies and supply resources.
