Bronchial asthma is one of the most common chronic respiratory diseases in children.In recent years,the prevalence of pediatric bronchial asthma has shown an upward trend,severely affecting children's health,growth and develop-ment.As an important fat-soluble vitamin,vitamin D not only participates in calcium and phosphorus metabolism to maintain bone health but also plays a role in pediatric asthma through immune regulation and other functions.In this article,the research advances on the role of vitamin D in pediatric bronchial asthma are reviewed,including the physiological functions of vitamin D,its involvement in the occurrence and development of asthma through immune regulation,participation in airway remodeling,alleviation of steroid resistance,influence on lung development and lung function,as well as the role of vitamin D supplementation in the prevention and treatment of pediatric asthma,aiming to provide new ideas and methods for the clinical prevention and treatment of pediatric bronchial asthma.
