Reshaping Urban Public Space and Regional Culture Expression. Media Discourse on the Reconstruction of the Central Axis in Kunming City
This paper focused on the reconstruction of the urban public space and related change in public discourse. By resorting to the history and the reconstruction of the central axis in Kunming City, the author attempted to analyze the media discourse and its role in reshaping of this important public space of the city and elaborate its cultural significance. The paper argued that the central axis with its significance in geography, space, and culture, could be discussed in three dimensions.
