The historical memory of Gushi County during the Republic of China period mainly includes aspects such as natural disasters and relief efforts,banditry and anti-banditry measures,cultural education and social customs,military affairs,and economy.Natural disasters and banditry were frequent and complex,and the government(including the army)and social or-ganizations were important forces in addressing these social problems.Education was divided into school education and social education,and the quality of social atmosphere was influenced by the level of education.In terms of military,the county was constantly affected by wars and suffered huge losses.In terms of economy,it was biased towards traditional industries,mainly composed of agriculture and industry,and had a low level of development,with transportation and communication achieving some development.
