Effect of mental resilience on the mental health of lower-division undergraduates:the mediating and moderating roles of school adaptation
Objective To investigate the effects of mental resilience on the mental health of lower-division undergraduates and the mediating and regulating effects of school adaptation. Methods A total of 819 junior college students in Yunnan were measured and analyzed with mental resilience scale, college students'adaptation scale, symptom checklist, and self-compiled demographic data survey questions. Results Mental resilience significantly predicts the mental health of lower-division undergraduates(β=0.680,P<0.001).School adaptation is a mediating variable and moderating variable of psychological resilience affecting mental health[95%CI(-0.429,-0.313),β=0.007,P<0.05)].Conclusion The level of mental health in lower-division undergraduates can be improved by increasing the level of resilience or promoting school adaptation.
