Objective To explore the mediating role of cognitive reappraisal and positive coping strategies between moderate thinking style and short video addiction among college students.Methods A total of 693 college students were measured using the Moderate Thinking Scale,Emotion Regulation Scale,Brief Coping Styles Questionnaire,and Short Video Addiction Scale.Results ①There was a negative correlation between short video addiction and moderate thinking,cognitive reappraisal,and positive coping strategies(r=-0.28,-0.34,-0.34,respectively,all P<0.01).②Moderate thinking directly influenced short video addiction among college students(β=-0.13,P<0.01).Simultaneously,it indirectly influenced short video addiction through cognitive reappraisal(β=-0.10,P<0.01),positive coping strategies(β=-0.05,P<0.01),and the combination of cognitive reappraisal and positive coping strategies(β=-0.06,P<0.01).Conclusion Cognitive reappraisal and positive coping strategies serve as serial mediators between moderate thinking and short video addiction among college students.
