Objective To examine the effects of peer phubbing behavior on short video addiction and the mediating role of neglect among college students.Methods A questionnaire survey was conducted on 552 college students using the Peer phubbing Behavior Scale,Social Exclusion Scale,and Short Video Addiction Scale.Results①There were positive correlations between peer phubbing behavior,neglect and short video addiction;②Peer phubbing behavior not only directly predicted short video addiction among college students(β=0.30,P<0.01),but also exerted an influence on short video addiction through the mediating role of neglect,with the mediating effect accounting for 18.1%of the total effect.Conclusion Peer can be one of the targets of short video addiction intervention.
