Characteristics and significance of the Arabic geographic documents and travel writings of the 13th-14th century CE
Based on comparisons of past travel writings and geographic works,this article analysed the changes in various aspects of the Arabic geographic documents and travel writings of the 13th-14th century CE.These include the sources of studying materials,prose,research methodologies,scopes,and contents.By integrating relevant historic documents,this article also discussed the literary,geo-graphic,and historical significance of the Arabic geographic documents and travel writings during this period.It is argued that these texts are of great value for studying the Silk Road of this period.
