A philological study of an early IlKhanate historical text Akhbār-i Mughulān
Akhbār-i Mughulān is one of the few IlKhanate historical sources that were composed be-fore Jami'al-Tārīkh.It records historical events from the rise of Genghis Khan to the assassination of Abaqa Khan. This book has many correspondences with the Akhbār-i Mughulān,but also retains a signif-icant amount of unique information. It is argued that text likely draws from multiple sources, with some materials having the same origins as those used by Jami'al-Tārīkh.However,Rashid al-Din Hamadani did not directly incorporate records from Akhbār-i Mughulān.Research into Akhbār-i Mughulān may offer further insights into the historiographical traditions of Mongolian era.
