Abstract
New Concept English(NCE), widely recognized as one of the most classic, authoritative and systematic teaching materials, enjoys a global popularity among learners of English as a second language. However, these books are taught mostly with grammar-translation approach in China, which fails to tap their full potential in improving adult learners' active skills, especially speaking. This conundrum could be solved in the context where flipped classroom is adopted.
