Intercultural business negotiation is actually a kind of economic activity through language. Whether it succeeds depends largely on the use of language. Both parties will endeavor to win the most of benefits while maintaining cooperation with the other. To best manage and control dialogues in competitive situations, a linguistic approach—the Cooperative Principle (the CP) would bring significant insights for businessmen. The thesis aims to study the deviation of the cooperative principle in intercultural business negotiation and find two strategies to help the negotiation go smoothly.
