Natural Disasters,Heaven-human Induction and the Struggles between Political and Religious Powers in Tubo's Upper Classes
Natural disasters in the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau were repeatedly utilized as a tool of struggle during the Tubo period of Tibet, and played a special role in the power struggle between the Buddhist and Bon's ministers.Based on the Tibetan and Chinese documents such as the Tibetan history book dba'-bzhed and two Han-Chi-nese history books, namely New Book of Tang's History and Old Book of Tang's History, the relevant historical facts are sorted out,and it is found that the Buddhist politicians and Bon's one utilized natural disasters to attack their opponents, which is believed that there is a close relationship with the doctrine of"Heaven-human Induc-tion"proposed by the scholars in the Pre-Qin period. It illustrates that the ideological and cultural exchanges be-tween the inland and Tibet, especially the Tubo's aristocrats learning, translating and referring to Confucian clas-sics,and both Buddhists and Bon believers accepted the doctrine and had it to play a great role in the political and social life of the Tubo, which has produced far-reaching influence.
