On Early Buddhist Cultural Exchanges between Tukhara and Tibet
The article discusses the history of Buddhist cultural exchanges between Tukhara and Tibet with the mutual corroboration of Tibetan and Han-Chinese documents,combing the history of the introduction of Bud-dhism to Tukhara and Tibet as recorded in historical materials,and the process of bringing Buddhist classics to Tibet through Tukhara in early time.It is found that due to the important geographic location of Tukhara on the Silk Road,Tukhara is directly related to the spread of Buddhism in China's Central Plains and Tibet,and had an important influence on the early history of the formation of Chinese Buddhism and Tibetan Buddhism.This is of great significance to the study of the historical process of the spread of Buddhist culture into China's Central Plains and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau via the Silk Road,and the construction of the common spiritual home of the Chinese nation.
