On the Vital Persons in Building the Community for the Chinese Nation——Take Ma Qingweng,a patriotic Monk,as an example
Ma Qingweng(i.e.Losang Baden)went to Tibet to learn the Dharma,studied"Five Major Classes of Knowledge(rig-gnas-che-ba-lnga)"and"Tantric Buddhism"as a monk,and he achieved success and was awarded the title of"cccc".He wrote a work of"The Threefold Essential Sutra Preaching of Avalokitesvara",then he was honored with the title"Mawu Chintse".By virtue of his position in the religious circles,he participat-ed in the preparatory work for the founding of the"Buddhist College of Five Major Classes of Knowledge"in Xi-kang,and also participated in the establishment of the"Wuxi Han-Tibetan Buddhist College"in inland,and led the chanting of sutras to eliminate disasters and dispel chaos.He actively mediated the disputes in Kham areas and resolved the conflicts between local temples there.Moreover,he took the initiative to propagate the"the Three People's Principles",and worked hard to stabilize the local area to defend border areas and reinforce na-tional defense.He also submitted his proposals and participated in the administration and discussion of state af-fairs in an effort to promote the construction of the border.In addition,he worked for the establishment of the"Kham Tibetan Trading Company"to support the local economic development and the anti-Japanese war.He spread the progressive concepts of national unity and integration through newspapers and periodicals,and active-ly participated in anti-Japanese propaganda work.As a member of the Kham elite,he had a global outlook,and had extensive contacts with people from inland,and took part in all kinds of social activities to strengthen ex-changes and promote unity among all ethnic groups.Thus,Ma Qingweng played an indispensable and important role in building the Community for the Chinese Nation.
