Research on the Modernization and Development of Xizang from the Perspective of"Roadology"
The construction of modern roads not only represents a crucial aspect of national governance but also serves as a vital pathway for local societies to embark on modernization.Although it is the last place in China to build modern roads,Xizang(Tibet)has witnessed the establishment of a comprehensive modern transportation system,including highways,air routes,and railways,within a mere 70 years.This paper takes roads as an entry point to comprehend the modernization of Xizang.It summarizes and interprets the role of modern roads in the peaceful liberation of Xizang,the economic and social development,the prosperity of urban along the routes,the rise of tourism industry,as well as the interactions,exchanges and integration of ethnic groups in Xizang.Further-more,it elucidates the significant benefits of modern roads in terms of mobility,connectivity,accessibility and time-space compression.The paper emphasizes the multifaceted impact of modern roads,urging comprehensive considerations and evaluations throughout the planning,construction,and utilization of roads,to foster high-qual-ity development in the modernization of Xizang.
