In recent years,a large number of cultural relics have been excavated at Sanxingdui in Guanghan City,Sichuan Province.At the same time,a large number of folk-preserved handwritten documents have also been found in the multi-ethnic border areas of Southwest China,such as Sichuan,Yunnan,Gansu,Qinghai and Tibet.Based on the above related cultural relics and literature,the article starts from interpreting the cultural connota-tion of the image of a dharma protector,a hawk-wolf hybrid,in the thangka paintings and the mythical creature decorated pedestal of the bronze altar unearth at Sanxingdui,and then introduces the content of a research done on the related cultural relics,literature,and folklore materials for the mutual testify and complementary.It is found that the history of interaction,exchanges and integration of the ethnic groups on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and its surrounding areas can be traced back to at least 3,000 years ago,and these materials provide an objective and scientific historical basis for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
