Jiang Biao has had a passion for books since childhood.He has frequented the bustling bookshops and booksellers in Suzhou,drawing inspiration from the previous Suzhou book collectors Huang Pilie and Gu Guangqi,and receiving guidance from his predecessor Ye Changchi.His collection is a testament to his passion for books and his commitment to the preservation of them.Throughout his career and official duties,he dedicated himself to studying the edition catalogue books day and night,gaining considerable experience through frequent exchanges with his predecessors,famous collectors,colleagues,friends,as well as booksellers around the country.From Jiang Biao's career course,it can be seen clearly how an ordinary scholar in Suzhou has developed into a renowned bibliographer and book collector during the alternation between the old and new learning in the late Qing Dynasty,which is of great significance for us to study book collection,edition analysis,and the development of a cataloger in Qing Dynasty.
