The Protection and Inheritance of Agricultural Cultural Heritage:A Case Study of the Traditional Agricultural System of Duotian in Xinghua of Jiangsu Province
The traditional agricultural system of Xinghua Duotian,situated in the Lixiahe region,exemplifies a unique form of agricultural cultural heritage,imbued with considerable cultural significance at the domestic and international levels.This study employs a combination of a literature review and field investigation to provide a comprehensive analysis of the basic conditions,historical origins,and cultural value of the system.Moreover,the study offers an objective assessment of the current developmental status and the principal challenges facing the system.T he study proposes that efforts to effectively inherit and protect the traditional agriculture of Xinghua Duotian should focus on three aspects:the protection and restoration of its ecosystem,the preservation and improvement of its traditional farming methods,and the integrated promotion with tourism. The recommendations set forth herein are intended to serve as a reference point for the protection,inheritance,sustainable development,and rational utilization of the traditional agricultural system in Xinghua.
