ANSYS-based Finite Element Analysis of Strength and Axial Stiffness of Compound Expansion Joints
In this paper,a finite element analysis using the ANSYS software was conducted to investigate the strength and axial stiffness of a compound expansion joint when subjected to both internal pressure and axial displacement.A two-dimensional axisymmetric model of the compound expansion joint was constructed, and the impact of nonlinearity on such joints was taken into account.A comparison of the analytical results with the calculation results of the EJMA engineering approximation method indicates that the ANSYS finite element results are more closely aligned with the actual situation, whereas the engineering approximation method exhibits a certain degree of inaccuracy.
