The Disintegration and Reconstruction of Village Community Under the Background of Merging Villages and Groups:Based on the Survey of Town S
During the process of rural modernization construction,the administrative village system reform led by merging villages and groups has historical inevitability and positive significance,but it also leads to the"end of the villages"and the collapse of the village community.After the reform of merging villages and groups in Town S,we find that there is a wide-spread phenomenon that villages are merged,but the hearts of the villagers are not together.Specifically,the geographical boundary of the villages is open,group identity within the villages is weakened and collective activities are difficult to orga-nize.So the village community gradually disintegrates,the social contradictions are intensified,and that the governance effi-ciency decreases.In order to improve the neighborhood relations and solve the governance problems as soon as possible,the merged villages should establish the"one-core and multi-element"governance model,strengthen the economy connection,improve the emotional identity,and steadily build the village community to enhance the cohesion of the villages so as to con-solidate the social foundation of rural development,advance the deep development of rural self-governance,and promote pri-mary-level governance modernization.
