Exploring the Willingness of Migrant Workers to Settle in Cities from the Perspective of Social Integration:Empirical Study Based on Logistic Model
The willingness of migrant workers to settle in cities affects the process of their urbanization, which in turn af-fects the construction of new urbanization and rural revitalization in China. The paper is based on 873 questionnaires of mi-grant workers in 2023,and constructs a binary logistic regression model from the perspective of social integration to study the influencing factors of the willingness of migrant workers to settle in cities.Empirical research shows that only 58%of migrant workers have the willingness to settle in cities.Such factors as the gender, age, marital status, education level, number of ac-companying family members, and length of urban migration time have no significant impact on their willingness to settle in cities.Such factors as participation in local medical insurance, identity recognition, economic income, health status, and con-tracted land have a strong impact on the willingness of migrant workers to settle in cities.Social participation, leisure life, and residence permits also moderately enhance the willingness of migrant workers to settle in cities. From three aspects of so-cial integration, economic income, and the equal access to public services, the paper proposes targeted countermeasures and suggestions to enhance the willingness of migrant workers to settle in cities.
