In order to solve the problem of TBM disc shaped roller breakage and improve the rock breaking efficiency of the roller,a rock breaking analysis model of TBM disc shaped roller was established using mathematical analysis method in the newly built West Qinling Tunnel of Lanzhou Chongqing Railway.The rock breaking force of the roller during the compression and shear failure stages of the rock mass was solved,and the influence of geometric parameters and rock mechanics parameters of the roller on the rock breaking force was analyzed.The research results show that the rock breaking force of disc cutters with dif-ferent blade half angles shows a significant nonlinear increase with penetration and tends to converge.The rock breaking force of disc cutters increases with the increase of blade half angle,and when the blade half angle exceeds 12 °,the rock breaking force of disc cutters increases sharply;When the penetration per revo-lution of the disc cutter is less than 2 mm,the rock breaking force of the disc roller increases nonlinearly with the increase of penetration,while when the penetration per revolution of the disc cutter is greater than or equal to 2 mm,it increases linearly;The effect of cohesive force on the rock breaking force of disc rolling cutters is consistent with the law of internal friction angle
