Higher vocational colleges cultivate high-level technical and skilled talents for society based on the scope of their students'professional activities.Therefore,vocational education should focus on culti-vating students'innovative abilities,flexibly use vocational skills competitions to test their professional and skill levels,promote the deepening of teaching content and the optimization of teaching processes,and cultivate technical and skilled talents that adapt to the development of enterprises and society.Start-ing from the impact of vocational skills competitions on the cultivation of innovative talents in vocational colleges,this paper analyzes the current situation of innovative talent cultivation in vocational colleges.In order to more reasonably apply vocational skills competitions to the cultivation of innovative talents,sev-eral suggestions have been put forward,hoping to effectively improve the effectiveness of cultivating in-novative talents in higher vocational colleges.
