During the investigation of insect natural enemy resources in Xizang,a large number of major agricultural and forestry pests were collected including Eulecanium kuwanai Kanda,E.cerasorum(Cockerell)and Kermes sp..Two species of Blastothrix(Hymenoptera:Encyrtidae),namely Blastothrix brittanica Girault and Blastothrix chinensis Shi were identified as newly recorded species in Tibet through literature and database search.These two species were im-portant hymenopteran natural enemies.The morphological characteristics,distribution and hosts of the newly recorded species were described in detail,and the taxonomic search table of Chinese species of the genus Encyrtidae was given.This study will contribute to the development of biological control in Xizang.
