Prevalence and influencing factors of hyperuricemia in hospitalized patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus in Lhasa,Xizang
Objective To understand the prevalence and influencing factors of hyperuricemia in inpatients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM)in a tertiary hospital in Xizang. Methods A total of 271 patients with T2DM in the De-partment of Endocrinology of the People's Hospital of Xizang Autonomous Region from January 1,2022 to December 31,2022 were collected and they were divided into observation group and control group according to the blood uric acid level of these inpatients. The observation group is the T2DM with high uric acid group(HUA),while the control group is the T2DM of non-concomitant hyper uric-acid group(NUA).The general clinical data of two groups of in-patients with T2DM were collected, including age, gender, body mass index(BMI),serum uric acid(UA),triglycer-ide(TG),total cholesterol(TC),hemoglobin(Hb),glycosylated hemoglobin(HbA1c),low-density lipoprotein(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein(HDL-C),glomerular filtration rate(GFR)and smoking history, alcohol consumption his-tory and hypertension history. These data went through statistical analysis performed by the SPSS 27.0 statistical soft-ware.Results The BMI and hemoglobin of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, while the HbA1c,HDL and GFR of the patients in the observation group were lower than control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis shows that HbA1c,BMI and age were risk factors for HUA.Conclusion The results of this study showed that the prevalence of hyperuricemia in T2DM inpatients in a tertiary hospital in Xizang was about 32%.Risk factors for hyperuricemia in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus include Hb,HbA1c,BMI,GFA and age.Patients with clinical type 2 diabetes mellitus should take preventive measures as early as possible according to the risk factors so as to reduce the possibility of hyperurice-mia.
