Analysis of semen and reproductive hormone levels in patients with Klinefelter syn-drome in Xizang
Objective The study is to investigate the levels of semen and reproductive hormones in patients with Klinefelter syndrome in Xizang.Methods The clinical data of 21 patients with Klinefelter syndrome diagnosed in the Reproductive Center of Fukang hospital affiliated to Tibet University were collected.The infertility patients with normal karyotype analysis were set as the control group.The differences in age,ethnicity,semen quality and repro-ductive hormone levels between the two groups were compared.Results The detection rate of patients with Klinefel-ter syndrome was 0.86%,the proportion of Tibetan was higher than that of the control group,the semen quality was lower than that of the control group,the levels of follicle-stimulating hormone and luteinizing hormone were higher than those of the control group,and the levels of testosterone were lower than those of the control group,all of which were statistically significant(all P<0.05),while the age difference between the two groups was not statistically sig-nificant(P>0.05).Conclusions Most patients with Klinefelter syndrome have azoospermia,high gonadotropin lev-els and low testosterone levels,so it is necessary to raise the awareness of the disease,diagnose and treat it early and preserve fertility.
