Research progress on the effect of altitude on the gutmicrobiota in hypertensive patients
Hypertension is the leading risk factor for cardiovascular disease, with an estimated 9.4 million deaths each year from hypertension and its complications worldwide. The pathogenesis of hypertension is complex, and there is increasing evidence to support the role of gut microbiota(GM)in hypertension, with the environment being an important factor affecting gut microbiota. In order to explore the role of the effects of high altitude on human gut microbiota in hypertension, this paper focuses on the interaction between gut microbiota and hypertension, the chang-es of human gut microbiota in high-altitude environment, and the therapeutic potential of gut microbiota in regulating blood pressure and preventing hypertension from the special environment of the plateau. It provides a new idea for the prevention and treatment of hypertension in high-altitude areas.
