Research progress and development suggestions on mixed sowing of gramineous and leguminous forages in Xizang
Mixed sowing refers to the cultivation method in which two or more types of forage grass are sown on the same piece of land.Forage grass co-seeding can differentiate in the spatio-temporal niche through the resource com-plementarity of the aboveground and underground parts, and the interspecific competition can be reduced under the appropriate mix and proportion of mixed sowing,so that the mixed crops can have a positive interspecific correla-tion.This paper elaborates on the advantages of mixed forage sowing, including increasing yield and nutrient content, improving nitrogen and phosphorus nutrient utilization efficiency and water utilization efficiency, and the advantages of mixed forage sowing are of great significance for the sustainable development of grassland animal husbandry. In this regard, this paper summarizes some research progress and achievements in mixed forage sowing in Xizang(Tibet),gives examples of mixed sowing types and optimal sowing ratios in some areas, and finally puts forward application and promotion suggestions from three aspects, namely experimental demonstration and technical training,implementa-tion of planting subsidies and improvement of infrastructure,as well as recultivation and replanting of abandoned land and abandoned cultivated land,so as to provide scientific and reference basis for forage mixed planting in Xizang.
