Evaluation of landslide susceptibility in Gongga County,Shannan City based on the information quantity method
In this paper,Gongga County in Xizang Autonomous Region was selected as the study object to carry out the susceptibility assessment of landslides. The following eight key factors can be considered in the assessment,in-cluding elevation, distance to water system, distance to roads, lithology, slope aspect, slope gradient, land cover type, and annual mean rainfall.By using the data analysis function of ArcGIS software, the correlation between each evalu-ation factor was analyzed.By applying the information quantity model to evaluate the susceptibility to landslides, the study area was divided into four different areas,namely(1)the extremely high-risk landslide area, which covers an area of 371.9232 square kilometers, accounting for 17.22%of the total area of the study region, and is mainly located in the riparian zone of the Yarlung Tsangpo River and its tributaries;(2)the high-risk landslide area, which covers an area of 684.1728 square kilometers, accounting for 31.67%of the total area of the study region, and is mainly distrib-uted in a belt along both sides of the extremely high-risk areas;(3)the medium-risk landslide area, which covers an area of 711.9936 square kilometers, accounting for 32.96%of the total area of the study region, and is mainly distrib-uted in a strip form on both sides of the extremely high-risk area, and is also sporadically distributed;(4)the low-risk landslide area, which covers an area of 392.1984 square kilometers, accounting for 18.15%of the total area of the study region, and is mainly located in the sparsely populated alpine areas. The results of this study can better reflect the distribution law of landslide disasters in the study area, and can provide a basis for disaster prevention and mitiga-tion in Gongga County.
