Effects of different planting densities and betaine concentrations on agronomic traits of maize
In order to explore the effects of betaine and planting density on the agronomic traits of maize, different betaine concentrations and planting densities were set up,and the key agronomic traits of maize, such as ear length, ear diameter,spike-stalk diameter, number of rows per ear, number of grains in row,ear weight and 100-grain weight were analyzed. In this study, the practice base of the Institute of Botany Sciences in Bayi District,Nyingchi City,Xi-zang was selected as the experimental site, and'Lihe 16'was selected as the main research object.A total of three dif-ferent planting densities(M)were set in the experimental treatment, namely 45000 plants/hm2(M1),90000 plants/hm2(M2)and 135000 plants/hm2(M3);another three different betaine concentrations(T)were also set,name-ly 5 mmol/L(T1),10 mmol/L(T2),15 mmol/L(T3),while the spraying water(T0)as the control group. The results showed that betaine concentration and planting density had significant effects on the agronomic traits of maize.(1)High concentration of betaine(T3 treatment)had a significant effect on the ear length and grain number of maize.(2)Planting density and betaine interaction had significant effects on 100-grain seed and yield of maize. When treated with M3T2,the yield per unit area of maize was the highest, reaching 12770.3 kg/hm2.In the M1T3 treatment, the single plant traits of maize were better.
