Through the first national comprehensive risk survey of natural disaster,the results of research conduct-ed before were collected and collated,and satellite images of part of fault in Xizang were interpreted by remote sens-ing.After summarizing,the seismic tectonic characteristics in Xizang were derived as the following.The seismic structures is characterized by thrust-overthrust in the early stage,followed by strike-slip extrusion in the middle stage,and extensional collapse in the later stage.The extrusion direction near the the continental plate boundary is nearly north-south,and it gradually turns to north-north-east in the area which is away from the plate boundary.It is general-ly in a near-east-west extension and extrusion deformation environment.
