The Establishment and Historical Influences of Lhasa Agricultural Experiment Farm and Lhasa Bayi Farm
Under the correct guidance of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and Chair-man Mao Zedong regarding the peaceful liberation of Xizang, troops and other personnel entering Xizang during a special period established the Lhasa Agricultural Experimental Farm and the Lhasa Bayi Farm on the Qinghai-Xi-zang Plateau. In the 1950s,the two farms not only alleviated the food supply problem but also laid the foundation for the post-liberation agricultural development and promoted unity among the various ethnic groups in Xizang.A review of the history of the two farms reveals their profound influences.Besides laying the grassroots foundation for subsequent work, they also initiated support for Xizang's construction and the implementation of the long-term de-velopment strategies. They accumulated valuable experience and laid important groundwork for Xizang's agricul-tural development and the in-depth scientific research of agriculture and animal husbandry.
