The Whole Nation's War against Japanese Aggression and Creating A Sense of the Chinese Nation as One Community:Take the Shen Bao Reports on Ti-betans during the War against Japanese Aggression as an Example
The period of the War against Japanese Aggression was a crucial time for the creating of a sense of the Chinese Nation as one community and also an important period for the transformation of Chinese newspa-pers since the late Qing Dynasty.The fourteen-year-long War against Japanese Aggression not only transformed the development of the Shen Bao but also reshaped the public opinion landscape in the border regions,playing a significant role in the dissemination and popularization of the concept of the Chinese nation.This paper uses re-ports about Tibetan compatriots'participation in the war from the Shen Bao as research texts to analyze the im-age construction in these reports.It examines the significance of these reports from the perspective of creating the sense of national identity and explores the underlying motivations behind the reporting by analyzing the edito-rial motives of the Shen Bao.
