In the late 1950s to mid-1970s,under the dual effects of the Xizang-related issues and border conflict,China-India relations plummeted to a historic low,exerting profound influences on the subsequent evo-lution of bilateral relations.In this context,the Parliament of India and the State Parliaments promulgated multi-ple acts in different fields,aiming to provide legal support for the implementation of India's national strategies.For an elaborated analysis,this study put the Xizang-related Acts of the Parliament of India within the frame-work of China-India relations,revealing the main legislative characteristics and motivations of these acts during this particular historical period and thereby providing insights into the research of Xizang-related policies imple-mented by the government of India in other periods of history.
