Fine estimation and evaluation of tourism comfort in Jiangsu Province based on GIS
Based on ArcGIS and Jiangsu meteorological conventional observation data during 1971~2008, performed a fine estimation and evaluation of tourism comfort in Jiangsu Province, combining DEM and consulting human comfort level standard index. It turned out that; generally speaking, the best travelling time of Jiangsu Province is two time ranges, that are, from late March to early June and from mid-September to early November, among which May and October have the best comfort index. The entire province is quite comfortable during spring and autumn, and southern Jiangsu and central Jiangsu areas are the most comfortable areas. In summer, other areas are prevalently high temperature except for the coastal areas in central and the hilly ground in southwestern and northwestern areas, which are not wise to go on a journey. In winter, the entire province is cold and dry, and the comfort index is low, which is not suitable for travel. According to each season's comfort situation, the result is: autumn>spring>summed winter.
