Cultural geographical characteristics and formation mechanism of Xuzhou town names
Geographical names are important spiritual and cultural landscapes,carrying a wealth of geographical,historical and other cultural information.Based on theories such as cultural ecology,the cultural and geographical characteristics of Xuzhou town names and their formation mechanisms are explored by using mathematical statistics and textual analysis in this study.The results show that the town names of Xuzhou city are mainly composed from ten types of resources such as surname,topography and landform,and military,which have the cultural and geo-graphical characteristics of confirming the people's strong clan concept,depicting the natural pattern surrounded by mountains and rivers,highlighting diverse cultures and outstanding people,revealing the past economic and trade conditions,reflecting the historical path of population migration,and placing the people's good wishes.The cultural and geographical characteristics of Xuzhou town names are the result of the comprehensive action of multiple factors,among which clan kinship and geographical complex are the basis of national tradition,natural environment and its changes are the geographical basis,ill-fated human history is the community shaping force,multicultural conver-gence is an important creative force,and social background and ideology are cultural and political forces.
