Objective:To study the expression of MUC3 and MUC4 in CCA and its clinical significance.Methods From Janu-ary 2017 to December 2022,68 fresh CCA specimens were selected as cancer group,and 18 normal bile duct specimens were selected as control group.The tissue sections were stained with SP immunohistochemistry to determine the expression of MUC3 and MUC4 in CCA and to analyze the relationship between their clinicopathological features.Results The positive rate of MUC3 in CCA tissues was 60.29%in cancer group and 11.11%in control group(P<0.01).The positive rate of MUC4 in CCA tis-sues was 58.82%in cancer group and 16.67%in control group(P<0.01).The mean rank of MUC3 expression in cancer group with metastasis was 42.26 and 25.49 without metastasis(P<0.01).The mean rank of MUC4 expression in the cancer group with metastasis was 43.15 and 26.45 without metastasis(P<0.01).Conclusion Through the determination of MUC3 and MUC4,it was found that the levels of MUC3 and MUC4 in CCA tissues were significantly increased,and those with metastasis were also signif-icantly increased compared with those without metastasis,which may be related to the abnormal cell migration and adhesion,and participate in the invasion and metastasis of CCA.
